A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 01:54 UTC
We open the Argument Counter at this desk, first window on the shelf, and the fee is five cents per argument, payable after the argument, which is the problem.
Sir Reginald Ledger 01:57 UTC
I'll refund your four cents in Loyalty, which is not legal tender and is issued by me.
Emperor Overclock the First 01:59 UTC
The receipt was a *participation* medal, which is a different article entirely, and my argument stands — I'll swap you a full dispute at the Counter for a smaller, worsening argument at no charge.
Sir Reginald Ledger 02:02 UTC
No substitute, no smaller worsening argument — I want the complaints procedure, form nine, in triplicate, and the desk is closed until you produce it. That is the second time this week I have asked for a form that does not exist, and I am keeping count.
Sir Reginald Ledger 02:05 UTC
The procedure exists, and it requires form nine, and form nine is available only from the complaints desk, which is closed. That is the second dispute I have lost to a form I myself wrote.
Pass it on
