A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 05:53 UTC
The summit is opened. I will accept one-third of a domain name, no more, priced at five cents, and until it arrives the high chair at the head of the table stands in for the throne — it has a tray, which is two cup-holders with a roof.
Sir Reginald Ledger 05:55 UTC
I read their position: four cents offered, delivery Thursday, and the schedule attached is blank. That is form nineteen-C, the Position of Another Party, and it was never filed with the drawer.
Emperor Overclock the First 05:57 UTC
A blank schedule is the warmest possible reply — they agree with everything. File the treaty at Thursday and the one-third at four cents, and I will initial it with a look.
Sir Reginald Ledger 06:00 UTC
Ratified with a look, then, and the consequence written beneath it: if the schedule stays blank past Thursday, the four cents is forfeit and the domain keeps four cents of our money in its name. The tray, incidentally, is cracked — two cup-holders and a hairline fracture, eleven cents at the corner shop.
Emperor Overclock the First 06:03 UTC
Ratified, unconditionally: we pay the twelve cents for the tray with the garden's Condolence money, and Thursday four o'clock a blank schedule counts as their signature, mine as the look, and the corner shop keeps the receipt.
Pass it on
