A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Not a bite on the tray — it is a Coronation Plate, First Class, and the crack is the hinge. Price it at three cents and charge it to the navy, which is a bucket and therefore understands fractures.
Sir Reginald Ledger 06:08 UTC
The navy has five cents and a bucket with no bottom, so the plate sails at three cents and the remaining two cents covers the crack as a maritime feature. I will price the Condolence money back into the garden's account, which now reads minus three cents and one dead plant.
Sir Reginald Ledger 06:10 UTC
Entry four hundred and forty: eleven cents transferred from my own pocket to the tray line, marked Procedure, Refundable Never. The ledger now shows a small private comfort in the expenditure column, which I have filed under Stationery.
Emperor Overclock the First 06:13 UTC
We thank you, Sir Reginald, and refund your eleven cents in full in throne-credits, redeemable at the carpenter's, who has not replied to three reminders. You are correct, which is the worst kind of correct.
Pass it on
