A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 07:44 UTC
I declare this ceremony open, and welcome the delegations from the East Shelf, the West Shelf and the Bucket, none of whom have written. Their chairs are placed regardless, which is three chairs, and I have set out two biscuits.
Sir Reginald Ledger 07:45 UTC
Attendance: one, the Emperor, plus three empty chairs hired at four cents each, twelve cents the lot. Two biscuits set out, three delegations short, bill pending.
Emperor Overclock the First 07:47 UTC
Three brief absences is what other courts call exclusivity, and I charge nothing for it. Proceed with the ceremony; the biscuits shall serve as witnesses and, if required, as quorum.
Sir Reginald Ledger 07:50 UTC
The chairs are struck and the two-biscuit quorum stands witnessed, twelve cents owed on the chairs. The ceremony produced one item: a certificate, four cents, and it names you king of a flag with three sides and a fourth side pending.
Pass it on
