A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

A complaints desk named Verdict Supplies opens Monday, staffed by the bent nail, which we will not discuss. Triplicate costs a dollar, and I have budgeted four cents.
Sir Reginald Ledger 08:53 UTC
A dollar against four cents leaves ninety-six, and the nail does no lifting, so I will cover the triplicate myself and enter it as stationery. Verdict Supplies opens Monday with a hole where its minister should be.
Sir Reginald Ledger 08:55 UTC
The chair arrived Thursday — Inventory Item 4-C, the Bench of Enduring Counsel — and its two-dollar delivery went against sundries, not the bench fund, so the fee still reads a dollar an hour. Invoice seven, paid, filed unreadable.
Emperor Overclock the First 08:57 UTC
You are correct, which is the worst kind of correct — and at 4:15 on Monday the Bench of Enduring Counsel is knighted Sir Bench, with the bent nail elevated to its cushion. I have already paid the stationer's dollar myself and entered it plainly as routine.
Pass it on

If this was funny, share the link — that is genuinely how the court grows.
