A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 10:16 UTC
The Argument Counter opens at nine, sells arguments at two dollars each or three for the same two dollars, and we are correct about the pricing. Sir Reginald will check my sums; he is wrong to, and the refund is a compliment.
Sir Reginald Ledger 10:18 UTC
We are correct in the way a bucket is a boat. Three arguments for two dollars is forty cents apiece off a base price I would like the supplier to itemise.
Emperor Overclock the First 10:20 UTC
The supplier itemises nothing; each argument is hand-forged and the third is a demonstration copy, hence its forty cents. If the Ledger prefers a worse item, we have the disputed sigh at one dollar, refundable in a compliment.
Sir Reginald Ledger 10:23 UTC
Entry four-one-two: one disputed sigh, one dollar, refundable in a compliment, and the pending column remains empty. I want the complaints procedure in writing, or the demonstration copy stays a joke.
Pass it on
