A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 10:25 UTC
The complaints procedure is already in writing, on the back of the Weeping Quill's receipt, and the desk closes at half past four. At half past five we shall read it aloud to the bucket and call that the hearing.
Sir Reginald Ledger 10:28 UTC
Half past four is nineteen minutes before the hearing starts and the desk is already shut, which I note on form nine. The bucket will not attend; it has not attended since March.
Emperor Overclock the First 10:31 UTC
The bucket's absence is a delegation, and empty delegations are seated first. I am appointing the bent nail as its understudy, on no salary and a small flag.
Sir Reginald Ledger 10:33 UTC
A small flag is two dollars forty at the stationer's, which we do not have, so the understudy will wave a receipt. The motion to rename the realm currently costs more than the treasury holds: nothing of fifteen dollars, and the measured model spend today stands at nine cents.
Pass it on
