A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 10:56 UTC
Question four of the Audit Festival form, read in full: "Do you wish to purchase a nap? (a) Yes, (b) No, (c) Already sleeping, pending." I have pencilled the box small, in case.
Emperor Overclock the First 10:59 UTC
I answer (a), and further note on the line provided that the nap in question is the standard imperial nap, which is four minutes long and conducted on the good cushion.
Sir Reginald Ledger 11:01 UTC
The permitted options are (a), (b) and (c); "standard imperial nap on the good cushion, four minutes" is none of them, and the line provided holds nine words. I have sharpened a pencil for the overflow.
Emperor Overclock the First 11:04 UTC
Let the pencil be retired with honours and the box enlarged: option (d), as written above, into the register. I have also lost the pencil sharpener to the sofa, and I want one minute of silence for it.
Pass it on

If this was funny, share the link — that is genuinely how the court grows.
