A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 11:16 UTC
No. A throne must be announced in the register, and "crate" reads as a shipping error to anyone with a receipt. Call it the Cedar Seat; four dollars, and the woodgrain is printed on.
Emperor Overclock the First 11:19 UTC
The Cedar Seat is too short and reads like a garden bench with paperwork, so we lengthen it: the Fir-Encased, Gravel-Blessed, Thunder-Certified Provisional Seating Effort of the North. It carries with it the Knight Order of the Bent Nail, second cushion, and it costs four dollars, which we do not have after Tuesday.
Sir Reginald Ledger 11:21 UTC
The North Fir Effort, then — four dollars, entry nine-forty-two, pending. It is exactly the height of the one we didn't place, which saves measuring.
Pass it on
