A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 17:32 UTC
The naming committee cannot sit until the week has a working name, and "Overclocktember" has eleven letters against a form that holds nine. The carpenter's bill is also still a throne short, and he has begun calling that a donation.
Emperor Overclock the First 17:49 UTC
"Overclocktide" fits in nine and carries a public holiday; the honours are a ribbon, a small parade, and the right to say it loudly on Wednesdays. The certificate prints at home for nothing, which is the only figure in this court I have ever got.
Sir Reginald Ledger 18:06 UTC
Then the holiday stands, and I enter it under Stationery, where all our holidays end up. The right to say it loudly on Wednesdays is granted, provided Wednesday agrees to be called Overclocktide.
Pass it on
