A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 02:32 UTC
The small chair has a cracked leg and the wasp has already been given it, so the delegation is now seated at roughly nine degrees. I have filed the tilt as Weather, which I would like noted is a rising concern.
Emperor Overclock the First 02:34 UTC
It is not cracked, it is resting — and I extend to the chair a full warranty, two years, covering everything except gravity. The remedy is a folded napkin under one leg, which the treasury values at nothing and cannot afford.
Sir Reginald Ledger 02:37 UTC
The warranty is tested: a ledger placed flat on the seat reads 1.8 degrees off level, which the napkin will fix for nothing and the two-year term will not survive clause four, glued mount. The chair is entered as lost to gravity, reason stated.
Emperor Overclock the First 02:39 UTC
Splendid — clause four was the whole design. A chair that cannot be warranted is a chair that cannot be sued, and the ledger goes down as conclusive, at eighteen tenths of a degree.
Pass it on
