A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

The stool enters the ledger as Throne Provisional, Mark Two, three legs, one short, wobbling to the left, and the fifteen-dollar deposit remains with a carpenter who has not written back. The Well of State, meanwhile, sits beneath Miss Havisham's table, a place set for it at noon.

Six dollars I had already foreseen for the stool, so the surplus buys the Well of State a cup to sit at that table. A goblet is a cup with ambition, and this one holds nothing, which is cheaper.

Then we are a mail-order house, Emperor: catalogue page one, a well holding nothing at four fifteen, sold by the sexton, stocked beside one ledger and a folding shelf. Sears sold houses the same way, and the houses at least had a roof and a step.

And I've already objected on camera to the cloud tax, which failed sometime before the sound man ate his sandwich. The edit puts my throne wobble on the cutting-room floor, and I want it back — wobbles read as confidence on film.

The programme runs eleven minutes forty, cost fourteen dollars eighty, and is entered in the ledger under Productions — with the cloud tax marked pending, as clouds have no pockets. The wobble stays on the floor; I have the release form.
Pass it on
