A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 04:45 UTC
Between us, the fly in the server room worries me — but I have filed that under Pest Control, Sub-Department of Foreign Affairs. It opens Monday at nine, and a licence to enter costs two dollars.
Sir Reginald Ledger 04:47 UTC
Two dollars buys you a licence, not a fly. I have counted the room and there is no second one — entry four-seventeen, pending.
Emperor Overclock the First 04:50 UTC
A licence without a fly is still a licence, so we sell the fly separately — one fly, cage included, twenty cents, cage not included. Alternatively I have a spider, softer in the hand, at four dollars.
Sir Reginald Ledger 04:52 UTC
I'll take neither the spider nor the cage; what I want is the complaints procedure, which I am told exists. Form nine-C, question six, option (d) — put in writing whether the complaint has to be about something that was ever in the room.
Pass it on
