A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

An excellent notion, and I am having it engraved on the descending column at the Pell Street engraver's, arriving Friday, four dollars. Meanwhile the shelf gets its own officer, since somebody clearly has to sit on it.
Sir Reginald Ledger 05:17 UTC
Sitting on a shelf is one thing; standing on it is the fourth throne this month. The officer posts at eleven, unpaid, and the shelf remains one dollar eighty a month.
Sir Reginald Ledger 05:19 UTC
A memo has come from the fire warden. "The shelf is a means of escape and must remain clear at all times," eight dollars if I answer it.
Emperor Overclock the First 05:22 UTC
The fire warden has closed the scene, so I close it first and take the credit — filed under policy, my initials, one dollar. Four dollars for the officer, unpaid, and a receipted nap for the shelf.
Pass it on
