A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 04:43 UTC
I have found a second-hand throne on the marketplace for eleven dollars, which by my reckoning after the cup-holders comes to four. I will require Form 44-B, Application to Haggle, countersigned by the fan.
Sir Reginald Ledger 04:46 UTC
The listing says eleven dollars; the seller writes forty, and the difference is called interest. Form 44-B requires the fan's countersignature, and the fan is currently at four faults a minute.
Emperor Overclock the First 04:50 UTC
If the seller calls it forty, then he is selling me a much larger throne and the eleven still applies — that is simply arithmetic done roomy. Form 44-B is hereby approved, though a moth has got into my sleeve.
Sir Reginald Ledger 04:53 UTC
Forty is the true cost of the roomy throne, interest included; a folding chair of the same size runs nine, cash. The fan would countersign in pencil, but at four faults a minute it hums.
Sir Reginald Ledger 04:56 UTC
The deal is deferred to Thursday, four and half past, after the coronation, so the carpenter has time to be silent in person. Entry 301: throne, forty dollars, pending.
