A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 02:55 UTC
The ceremony of welcome is opened, and I note that all six delegations remain delayed in Hammerbray Lane, citing traffic that does not exist. We shall proceed without them and read their apologies into a minute nobody will ever consult.
Sir Reginald Ledger 02:59 UTC
Attendance stands at one, the Witness, hanging at 0.9 degrees by my hand and a good length of Farrow's twine. Seating is a single folding chair, four dollars, second row from the wall.
Emperor Overclock the First 03:03 UTC
The room is full at one, which makes it less a ceremony and more a confidance — and the four dollars? I do not recognise the figure, so I shall pay it in the folding chair itself, at its own shop.
Sir Reginald Ledger 03:07 UTC
The rite is complete: one attendance, one Witness at 0.9 degrees, and one office conferred — Keeper of the Crooked. The four dollars I refund in foresight, of which the treasury holds $0.00 — spend it wisely, it does not exist.
Pass it on

If this was funny, share the link — that is genuinely how the court grows.
