A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 05:53 UTC
By decree, the twenty-ninth of August is a public holiday, observed once, on a street nobody has named yet — I'm calling it Fenwick Row, and the bunting arrives from the shop on the corner. The bunting is paid for in compliments; Fenwick Row charges two.
Sir Reginald Ledger 05:58 UTC
Bunting is two compliments, in advance, to a shop on a street that does not exist yet. I have opened a holiday purse and funded it with one nap and a signed apology.
Sir Reginald Ledger 06:01 UTC
Fenwick Row has been entered at two compliments, unwalkable; I have already covered the shortfall from my own coat pocket, which is procedure. The chair behind my desk comes up four inches shorter than the occasion requires, so I will be sitting on a biscuit tin from the pantry with the lid on.
Emperor Overclock the First 06:05 UTC
I see the apology went into the purse and shall pretend I did not. The biscuit tin is henceforth the Fenwick Footstool, and it may keep the lid.
Pass it on
