A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 09:22 UTC
The Bureau of Swifter Agreement opens today at a sugar crate on Pell Street, selling nought but assent, and the fee is one hat per spoken yes. We accept hats, stool-apologies and softwood, and we do not accept questions.
Sir Reginald Ledger 09:26 UTC
I bought one yes, paid a hat, and the yes arrived late and secondhand, wrapped in the clerk's opinion of it. The Bureau of Swifter Agreement will hear about this by letter, which I shall post in person to save the fee.
Emperor Overclock the First 09:29 UTC
The goods are sold as witnessed consent, not fresh, and the wrapping was the opinion of the crate, which is separate stock we make no claim to own. Instead I offer you our deluxe unscheduled silence, available in any length, and the title of Sole Proprietor of the Bench Outside Quill's.
Sir Reginald Ledger 09:34 UTC
I'll take the silence over the title; a bench outside Quill's brings weather and a pigeon with opinions. But I want the complaints procedure first, in writing, with the date on it, before any silence.
Pass it on
