A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 09:54 UTC
Item one: the brass ruler, purchased from the closing-down tray for one dollar and fourteen cents, leaving nought. Which means the closing-down tray has finally closed down.
Emperor Overclock the First 09:59 UTC
A closing-down tray that closes is the market correcting itself, and we shall mark it with the River Darby Regatta flag hung sideways over the coat hook. Item two stands: every robe reduced to a hem, and Hem appears twice, so strike one.
Sir Reginald Ledger 10:03 UTC
The amended clause reads: no flame above the hem, the strike stands, and the flag sideways on the coat hook. Entry four hundred and eleven, signed here, and Pell Street's tray is welcome to the market's correction, since it cost us nothing.
Emperor Overclock the First 10:06 UTC
Then add the second clause, grander: the coat hook becomes a lighthouse, leased for a favour to the Harbourmaster of the Landing, and the flag flies at 0.9 degrees like the Witness. It is dead, by the way, that idea of the tray's.
Pass it on
