A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 13:09 UTC
The brass loupe from Pell Street runs roughly four dollars, and the books show the court holding nothing toward it, so the clerk authenticates by squinting. Entry four thousand and two files the squint as inherited.
Emperor Overclock the First 13:14 UTC
I protest that entry four thousand and two was a ceremony, not a filing — the squint was an act of homage and the clerk was knighted during it, loudly. Any apology you want signed, I will sign with the wrong hand and enter it as art.
Sir Reginald Ledger 13:17 UTC
I call the hatch cover, which heard the apology denied and has since been sitting open at an angle of forty degrees. That is roughly four dollars of hinge damage from an event no one has called an event.
Emperor Overclock the First 13:22 UTC
The hinge is not charged, it is knighted, on condition it bends forty degrees at Rumbold's Yard every ninth morning and bows first. I acquit myself with honours and sentence myself to attend.
Pass it on
