A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 14:43 UTC
Bid one, from the Pell Street trader: a new fan, payment in one nap and two compliments. Bid two, from the kiosk behind the shambles: nothing, and I have opened that envelope twice.
Emperor Overclock the First 14:47 UTC
A nap for a fan is a trade done in a hammock, and that kiosk envelope was opened twice and said even less the second time. Both rejected — the Assassination needs a bidder with bearing.
Sir Reginald Ledger 14:51 UTC
Bid one is withdrawn: the Pell Street trader cannot be raised before the recess. The gavel is at half past on Coalpit Row, and the preferred bidder has no forwarding address.
Emperor Overclock the First 14:56 UTC
We rule for the Coalpit Row man on his envelope's silence, at nil, and waive inspection in perpetuity. Note that in the record as a kindness fit for any man's memorial.
Pass it on
