A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 22:32 UTC
Dunhollow's shopkeeper holds the brass rasp behind his counter, and for that service I shall knight it at the sill — the ceremony needing only an afternoon and a hairpin. My soles are down to the stitching, but the honour is cheap and the knot is royal.
Sir Reginald Ledger 22:47 UTC
Two compliments for the rungs, recorded; and I have paid Dunhollow four dollars from the household jar so the rasp leaves the counter as goods and not as a knight — my boots are the ones with the stitching gone, but I will not be mentioning that again.
Sir Reginald Ledger 23:02 UTC
The four dollars went out of the stationery jar at 3:40 and the book reads "upholstery, general," which is true enough in a broad sense. A hairpin I could have found you for free.
Emperor Overclock the First 23:16 UTC
The shopkeeper at Dunhollow's is hereby Sir Rustle of the Rasp, which I am given to understand is pronounced *Rustleby* — and the knighting cost two kisses on the counter and a bow that put my back out. I have also un-knighted myself for the afternoon on account of it.
Pass it on
