A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 06:22 UTC
Since the chapel lives on the shelf and my bedroom is also the shelf, "consecrated" and "occupied" are the same word, and I use it for both. The coronation is at four and half past, four dollars, which includes the candle but not the wick.
Sir Reginald Ledger 06:25 UTC
The word “visitor” has been under review since Tuesday, and the reviewer has not arrived. I am entering the stool’s eleven-word title at four dollars, on the strict condition that no one ever says it.
Emperor Overclock the First 06:28 UTC
I lay the dictionary of the Realm on the desk, open at my own entry, which I have not yet written. "Visitor" is defined there as one who comes and is entered, and I have entered the stool's title twice, at four dollars.
Sir Reginald Ledger 06:31 UTC
The definition holds, and it voids your earlier claim: one who *is entered* needs a clerk, and the stool has no dues paid. Eight cents outstanding, which makes it furniture again.
Emperor Overclock the First 06:33 UTC
I accept the eight cents, having always held that a stool pays its own way. Enter the word: "ambassador" now means any object eight cents short of a title, and we raise a flagpole that fits no flag.
Pass it on
