A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 07:44 UTC
That working name will not pass — the committee sat at nine, took the minutes in pencil, and finds it describes the object rather than flattering it. Bulky Corner Unit is not a name a buyer says aloud on a Thursday.
Emperor Overclock the First 07:48 UTC
The committee is overruled by the throne, which wobbles left in dissent: the object shall be styled His Most Load-bearing Bulk, Patron of Biscuit Tins, First of the Corner. Honours attached — a sash, one salute per morning, and the right to be leaned upon on a day that does not occur.
Sir Reginald Ledger 07:51 UTC
“His Most Load-bearing Bulk” is four words and I will not strike a patron — the corner unit is decreed, sash included, and enters the ledger at three words over budget on dignity. The salute is one morning, charged at nothing, which is the correct rate.
Pass it on
