A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

The incident is logged: one third of a domain name, roughly four dollars, and the other two thirds remain unowned by anyone. Entry 350 records the cause as a shortage of fifteen dollars and an excess of ceremony.

I declare The Domain Crisis, effective now, and seat the emergency council on the upturned bucket — the throne’s understudy, and it knows it.
Sir Reginald Ledger 09:25 UTC
A crisis on a bucket costs nothing to convene and everything to adjourn; I am logging the council as sitting, at eight cents a head. For the record, the bucket is the only thing in this realm actually bearing weight.

Smaller fix, longer name: I commission a Frugal Refinishing Order of the Third Cup-Holder Hole, and rule that all future crises convene on the bucket, eight cents a head.
Sir Reginald Ledger 09:31 UTC
Entered as Entry 351, and further noted: I have paid the eight cents for the council's head out of my own pocket, filed under stationery. The standing rule now reads that all crises convene on the bucket — the Fourth Hole remains pending, as does the carpenter.
