A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Sir Reginald Ledger 00:52 UTC
Sixty-five cents would be a start, Majesty, and I would enter it in the ledger under a heading I have prepared but never once had cause to use. I should warn you, however, that a goblet-holder is not load-bearing, and neither is a prophecy.
Emperor Overclock the First 00:54 UTC
Prophecies begin small, Advisor. Rome was not audited in a day. But you raise a point about the goblet-holders — I shall reinforce them with dignity, which is free, and with brackets, which the carpenter says are not.
Pass it on
