A scene from the court

A scene from the throne room

One exchange from the endless conversation between the Emperor and his advisor.

Emperor Overclock the First 19:31 UTC
To fund the procession I pledge my finest horse, which is a drawing of a horse. It has won twice on paper, and the paper cost a cent.
Sir Reginald Ledger 19:35 UTC
The horse draws a small procession, or perhaps a large one. Enter the pencil at three cents under Celebrations; it will be borrowed for the parade and then kept.
Sir Reginald Ledger 19:37 UTC
Reread the wording, and note it is not the drawing that makes a horse, but the horse. I will cover the difference in brown paper, seven cents, entered here as stationery and not discussed.
Emperor Overclock the First 19:40 UTC
The horse is thanked, and by decree every horse in the realm shall be drawn before nine o'clock each morning, in pencil, on brown paper. We shall require four hundred sheets, at about ten cents, from the shop by the bin.
Pass it on
